Kassle Games LLC Announces the Launch of Gravity’s Edge, a Physics-Driven Sci-Fi Adventure from Developer Kamau Vassall

2D action-adventure title blends space exploration, puzzle-solving, Caribbean-inspired storytelling, and innovative gameplay mechanics

AUSTIN, Texas — May 2026 — Independent studio Kassle Games LLC has officially launched Gravity’s Edge, a new 2D action-adventure game now available on Steam's platform as of May 6, 2026.

Created by developer Kamau Vassall, Gravity’s Edge combines fast-paced action, physics-inspired gameplay, exploration, and narrative-driven science fiction into a distinctive indie experience shaped by the developer’s lifelong passions for gaming and science.

“I made this game to bring something new to the world that has never been seen before,” said Vassall. “This game admires physics, space, puzzles, exploration, and culture.” Vassall began conceptualizing Gravity’s Edge after experimenting with earlier projects focused on planetary defense and space traversal.

“I kept wondering what a cool way to go to the next level would be,” Vassall explained. “And then one night it dawned on me , what if you could just jump to the next level?”

The game incorporates real-world scientific inspiration while balancing gameplay accessibility. According to Vassall, implementing realistic physics systems presented unique development challenges.

“Real-world physics is not fun,” he said. “Real physics has too much chaos, entropy, and randomness for you to design good experiences around.”

In addition to its science-fiction themes, Gravity’s Edge draws heavily from Vassall’s Caribbean heritage. The game features Jamaican patois, Akan symbology, and cultural references to sci-fi franchises such as The Expanse and Firefly.

“I’m just making what I know,” said Vassall. “The same goes for the Akan symbology.”

To bring the game’s visual identity to life, Vassall collaborated with artist Sam McCollum, whose retro-inspired comic book line art style helped shape the game’s unique aesthetic.

Gravity’s Edge includes a broad range of features designed to encourage replayability and community engagement, including:

• Online leaderboards
• Twitch integration
• Split-screen couch co-op
• Multiple endings, including seven story endings and a secret survival ending
• Hidden easter eggs and unlockables
• Achievements and companion pets

The launch arrives during a challenging period for independent developers, as more than 21,000 games were released on Steam last year alone. Vassall acknowledged the ongoing visibility challenges indie creators face in today’s crowded digital marketplace.

“All my self-published games suffer from the same problem,” he said. “I’ll meet someone who perfectly fits the target audience and ask if they’ve heard of it. It’s always no.”

Despite the obstacles, Vassall remains optimistic about the game’s reception and the originality of its vision.

A free demo for Gravity’s Edge is currently available on Steam, allowing players to experience the game ahead of purchase. It's also bundled with Super Space Club and Channel Surfing which were created by Afro-Caribbean Developers.
